ALUMNI TESTIMONIES

Words from our Alumni:

A major in Supply Chain Management allows students to enter a variety of fields within the business world.  Its significance lies in reducing costs while simultaneously maximizing efficiency and effectiveness to ensure business successes.  Careers in Supply Chain can be found in both consumer and service industries; spanning across functional areas of procurement, logistics, distribution, demand planning, operations, forecasting, sales, customer service, and more!
Alumni from the Rutgers University Supply Chain program have had the opportunity to expand on their education in the positions that they have secured in graduation.
Below are a few words from select alumni describing their achievements in the Supply Chain industry:

Timothy Fong – Class of 2016
Deloitte Consulting,  Consultant
Tim Fong graduated in December 2015 with a degree in Supply Chain & Marketing Science. He joined RUSCA in early Spring 2014 under the marketing committee managing social media and public relations. He then served as the VP of Marketing & Public Relations May 2014 – 2015. Aside from academia, Tim was also involved with his fraternity, Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI). He was a founder and served as FIJI’s Director of Community Service September 2014 – December 2015. Tim currently works at Deloitte Consulting out of Rosslyn, VA. In his free time he enjoys hiking, running, and traveling.

Helen Ahn – Class of 2010
Goldman Sachs, Operations Analyst
Experiences after graduating: I work in Operations, and more specifically in Accounting Services, which processes all of the firm's vendor expenses and employee travel and entertainment expenses. I work on various process enhancements and reconciliations. I chose Supply Chain, because viewing a process from end to end and drilling deep into the inner workings of a business or a function was interesting to me. Involvement in the club helped me connect with a variety of professionals in Supply Chain and helped me learn more about the various aspects of it.

Joyce Kong – Class of 2010
HRG, Consulting Analyst
I help negotiate deals and analyze savings for corporate travel. This new position allows for varied, project-based work, client interaction, high visibility, and travel perks.  SCMMS is an extremely versatile major -- you can end up in corporate supply chain, government (to serve military/defense supply chain needs), consulting, or something else altogether.

Eitan Levine – Class of 2010
L'Oreal, Market Supply Logistics Analyst
As an MSL Analyst, I am responsible for overseeing inventory and information flows for my respective geographic area.  MSL serves as a "control tower" for the supply chain. There are 11 of these departments around the world, each focusing mainly on handling logistics between countries in the zone and managing physical flows and information in their respective zone as effectively as possible. An MSL analyst supports L'Oreal's business growth through management of launches and, more broadly, the ongoing product catalogue. I work closely with both ends of the supply chain: manufacturing and customers. I also work with other business functions such as product development to manage new product launches and international marketing.  I am very happy with my decision to do supply chain because it is an extremely challenging but fulfilling position.
